The ‘Justice League’ Trailer Has Finally Arrived!

07.23.2016 | By |

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gglkYMGRYlE&feature=em-uploademail

I can’t believe I’m seeing this trailer. This film wasn’t even supposed to be made. It was some fantasy amongst comic-book heads. There was talk of production maybe happening in 2020, but in 2016!? YES!! DC’s equivalent of The Avengers premiered at the San Diego Comic-Con today and with no Superman in sight, Bruce Wayne wrestles up Aquaman, Flash, Cyborg and Wonder Woman to fight an unseen enemy. But again, where is Superman? The tone of the film will be on the jocular side, much like Marvel, but the look is straight up DC. This trailer is not breathtaking or surreal, perhaps because it’s not the official trailer? but it establishes the physical presence of the core characters, including Cyborg (I’ll be rooting for him above all others). Take a look, let me know what you think of the trailer!

There was a European Star Wars Celebration happening today where apart from guests like Mark Hamill, there was behind the scenes footage shown of the new Rogue One: A Star Wars Story film starring Mexican actor Diego Luna. Director Gareth Edward narrates it and it is quite impressive to see how much goes into making a blockbuster of this magnitude. Have a look and start your weekend off right with this video.

Is The New Ryan Gosling, Emma Stone ‘La La Land’ Trailer A Sequel To ‘Crazy, Stupid, Love’?

07.13.2016 | By |

For someone who watches as many movies as I do, it’s hard not to see new trailers and immediately compare them to other films. The new Ryan Gosling, Emma Stone ‘La La Land’ trailer looks like a mish-mosh between Marc Webb’s (500) Days of Summer and a sequel to Glenn Ficarra & John Requa’s Crazy, Stupid, Love. Ryan and Emma co-starred in that movie and played lovers, just like here. Can’t forget director Damien Chazelle. He helmed the best movie of 2014 Whiplash and once again is giving us something to behold. Take a look at the trailer and let me know if it piques your interest. La La Land debuts in theaters this December.

Jeez, we’ve been waiting a year for this trailer to drop. Harvey Weinstein finally gives us a look at Hands Of Stone, based on the legendary Panamanian pugilist Roberto Duran and his equally legendary trainer Ray Arcel who changed each other’s lives. Is it going to be the next CREED? I don’t think so, but it has the promise of being a solid movie. Read More

This Week In Movies: ‘Batman v Superman,’ ‘Born To Be Blue’

03.21.2016 | By |

We’re a little more than half-way through March and this week’s movies offer a little somehting for everyone. One which has captivated my attention is Ethan Hawke’s Born To Be Blue, a jazz film about Chet Baker, arguably the most popular trumpeter after Miles Davis and Dizzy Gillespie. I had met with Hawke last year and he showed me several pics of the production and we discussed favorite albums plus his legacy. Also, we should address the armored bat in the room – Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. This is the most anticipated film of 2016. The reason it is more anticipated than Captain America: Civil War, is the tremendous pressure and risk behind the success of WB and DC’s franchise set-up film. Read More

Watch The New ‘Ben-Hur’ Movie Trailer!

03.16.2016 | By |

Coming to theatres August 12, 2016, this remake of Ben-Hur has all the defects of whitewashing, but let’s not get into that right now. Will the film work? Will a historical drama about the Roman Empire work in 2016? There are no major stars, apart from Morgan Freeman in a minor supporting role. What are the expectations? Let’s begin by you seeing it.  Read More
