With Bruno Mars (Puerto Rican heritage) nominated for six awards and Despacito‘s bilingual version nominated for three, including Justin Bieber, we are seeing one of the great years for Latinos in music. Shakira’s ‘El Dorado’ (Album Review)

06.2.2017 | By |

Shakira’s 11th album El Dorado is a love letter to Colombia. The title itself refers to Colombia’s “lost city,” full of alluring mystery and enchantment. With thirteen tracks, the album is predominantly sung in Spanish, with four tracks in English, and one track in French. While some artists crash and burn while trying to transition into different genres, Shakira proves that she still has it in her and most importantly, her hits don’t lie. Read More

TODAY SHOW: I Talk ‘Wonder Woman,’ Katy Perry, ‘Queen Sugar’ Season 2

05.31.2017 | By |

These segments are my absolute favorites because of how informative they are. It takes me a full day of focus to research all the items, which are usually about 10, to digest and put them into succinct words ready for television. I was very happy to be able to review the biggest and buzziest film of the year – Wonder Woman along with recommending several other other movies, music albums and TV shows for you to see and listen to this June. Please, click on the video and see what catches your eye!

This Is One Of The Better Motown Records I’ve Heard In A While

07.9.2016 | By |

Motown is a timeless genre that has no expiration date. Bruno Mars is heavily influenced by the sound and there is even a Broadway musical called Motown The Musical, based on the life of Motown founder Berry Gordy, that began performances July 12th. Through hours of perusing on my Spotify, I stumbled upon this album The Supremes Sing Rodgers & Hart. It was a combination of my first musical love – jazz – and now the best of – Motown. It’s heaven to hear. It has Diana Ross swinging and crooning sweet jazz sounds. The vocals are not by any means Ella or Billie, but they provide a refreshing sound to the classic pop jazz of the times. Have a listen, you’ll be indulgent from the start!
