Lifetime’s ‘Devious Maids’ will now air show in Spanish

06.4.2013 | By |

In a first for an English language network, Lifetime is offering a pre-linear sneak peek of its ‘Devious Maids‘ pilot in English and Spanish set for June 9th, 2 weeks before its on air premiere.

Post premiere, the network will make each episode of Devious Maids available in both English and Spanish across these platforms the day after its Sunday 10:00pm ET/PT airing. For its linear telecast, Devious Maids will be available in Spanish to standard definition viewers via the second audio program service.

Executive producers Eva Longoria has a lot riding on this show since her previous effort with NBC – “Ready for Love” – was a dreadful flop. If America doesn’t embrace this show, her career as a producer will look bleak moving forward. Then again look at M. Nighht Shyamalan‘s career… Read More

Is America ready for a Latina to be a co-host of ABC’s The View?

05.20.2013 | By |

As ‘The View’ gets ready to say goodbye to Barbara Walters, ABC network executives and producers are having closed door meetings on the future of the much imitated iconic show.

One of the ideas being tossed around, again, is the inclusion of a Hispanic co-host. That idea is about to be re-tested when Univision’s Primer Impacto co-anchor, Pamela Silva Conde, gets a co-hosting seat next to the ladies of ‘The View’ this Tuesday at 11AM, eastern time. Read More

2013: The year American TV went Spanish!

05.13.2013 | By |

One of the best drama shows in television history is getting a Spanish twist – “Breaking Bad” is going Español and there’s nothing “Heisenberg” can do about it. Univision Networks will be the company that brings it to you courtesy of a deal they struck with Sony Pictures Television this week.

Metastasis” will be the name of the show and will carry the same brilliant story line from its English brethren: the story of a struggling high school chemistry teacher who is diagnosed with inoperable lung cancer. He turns to a life of crime, producing and selling meth with a former student with the goal of securing his family’s financial future before he passes away. Read More

Exclusive! Selena Gomez On Being Latina

09.13.2008 | By |

Selena Gomez at the tender age of 16 is making news across television and music. Her future objective is film and she’s already making headway with a straight to DVD movie.

What is tremendous here is that she is positioning herself as the next Jennifer Lopez, a Latina triple threat that can do it all. Add to that some class, good parenting, talent and that je ne sais quois and voila!

What always peaks our curiosity with US Hispanic celebrities is if their cultural heritage is ever important to them. We had a chance to speak to Selena herself about the topic as well as her colleague Jake T. Austin amongst other things.

Click on the video below and see what they say in our exclusive interview with her.
