41 Fall Trailers That Inspired Me To Watch Movies Again

09.10.2017 | By |

A confession. I stopped watching movies for a while. Call it movie burn-out or the unequivocal fact that television is the new movies. Whatever the reasons, I needed a break from the two-hour suck ups I couldn’t get back. I was seeing so much junk that I felt guilty I wasn’t using the time in my life more efficiently. Then I saw the trailers of the new movies releasing this fall and I actually got excited, thrilled in fact. Apart from some gems, this 2017 has been the pits in Hollywood which is why these 41 trailers I’m now sharing with you, should get you excited too. These movies speak to me somehow, either to my passions, interests and likes or have reminded me of a past experience I’ve had or the fantasy of a future one I’m interested in having. So without further delay, here are “41 Fall Trailers That Inspired Me To Watch Movies Again”. *(Stay tuned for our Fall Movie Preview on our Highly Relevant Podcast this month) Read More

From director/co-writer Dee Rees, comes the ambitious new film Mudbound, which premiered to great acclaim at the 2017 Sundance Film Festival. Set against the backdrop of the Mississippi Delta during the Jim Crow era after World War II, Mudbound is both a timeless and timely film following two families – one black, one white – bound together by the hardships of farm life. Starring Carey Mulligan, Jason Clarke, Jason Mitchell, Mary J. Blige, Rob Morgan, Jonathan Banks and Garrett Hedlund. Read More

First Official Trailer For US Latina Icon ‘Dolores’ Documentary

07.24.2017 | By |

If you are a US Latino/a who doesn’t know who Dolores Huerta is, it’s time you wake the f*ck up. Dolores is among the most important, yet least known, activists in American history. An equal partner in co-founding the first farm workers unions with Cesar Chavez, her enormous contributions have gone largely unrecognized. Dolores tirelessly led the fight for racial and labor justice alongside Chavez, becoming one of the most defiant feminists of the twentieth century—and she continues the fight to this day, at 87. Guillermo Del Toro’s First Official Trailer Of ‘The Shape Of Water’

07.19.2017 | By |

Mexican director Guillermo del Toro is once again behind the camera, this time, with a fantasy romance film titled “The Shape Of Water” directed, written and produced by him. The story is about an other-worldly fairy tale, set against the backdrop of Cold War era America circa 1963. In the hidden high-security government laboratory where she works, lonely Elisa (Sally Hawkins) is trapped in a life of silence and isolation. Elisa’s life is changed forever when she and co-worker Zelda (Octavia Spencer) discover a secret classified experiment. Read More

Excellent Trailer of Salma Hayek’s ‘Beatriz at Dinner’

04.12.2017 | By |

It is a rarity to see films with a central Hispanic lead, specially with one who possesses a strong accent such as Salma Hayek. But somehow, America forgives her (and a select few) and they allow themselves to be treated to the screenwriter’s imagination and the director’s vision of a story. These characteristics and more are in full display in Beatriz at Dinner. Puerto Rican director Miguel Arteta, who made a favorite film of mine, Youth In Revolt, starring Michael Cera, casts Salma Hayek in what will arguably be known as her best performance since her Oscar nomination in 2002’s Frida. This is the type of films Latinos should aspire to be a part of – dark comedies with a melding of Caucasians and Latino sensibilities; those which break from the storytelling of border-crossing or drug cartels. Beatriz at Dinner seems to offer a new paradigm for Latino actors, one which they should be watching with a discerning eye. Transformers: The Last Knight: The Official Trailer Is Here!

04.12.2017 | By |

I still don’t think Mark Wahlberg fits the Transformers franchise, but now that Michael Bay is stepping down after this film, it’ll be interesting to see how the dynamics (and cast) probably change under “new management”. Nice to know Big Little Lies Latino actor Santiago Cabrera is in the film. Give the trailer a look and let us know what you think about it in the comments section below. Read More

The New ‘Justice League’ Trailer Is Here!

03.25.2017 | By |

The second trailer for Warner Bros. and DC’s Justice League trailer is here and is beginning to become more credible with each footage that is released. Still no sign of Superman which I’m assuming will be the BIG reveal within the movie. Though Amy Adam’s Lois Lane does make a quick cameo. What do you guys think so far of the trailer? Will you go see it or are you done with DC and their disappointments? Leave comments below.
