‘42‘ by Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures tells the story of baseball legend Jackie Robinson, which will open nationwide on April 12, 2013.
Director Brian Helgeland recounts the powerful story about the first baseball player who broke the Major League Baseball’s color barrier when he signed to play with the Brooklyn Dodgers.
The film stars Academy Award nominee Harrison Ford as the Dodger’s revolutionary general manager Branch Rickey, the MLB executive who dared to sign Jackie Robinson played by Chadwick Boseman. This is the tale of how the heroic African American joined the minors thanks to the guidance of Rickey and went on to be the first colored player in the big leagues.
