New DVD Releases This Week: ‘Iron Man 3,’ ‘Room 237’

Every Tuesday, Hollywood’s home video divisions release the latest Bluray and DVD movies for your viewing pleasure. Every Tuesday, we will make sure to highlight what has come out, our review of the film and details of the discs such as how the 3D was or if it’s 5.1 or 7.1 surround sound, etc. We begin with…

Iron Man 3:

The “1-4-0”: If you are 25 and under then you are going to absolutely go bonkers for it. But if you are over 30, the fireworks will be a bit more restrained. You see, when one gets older, kid jokes are only so funny. You need a much more layered joke or gag to trigger the laughs. ‘Iron Man 3’ as fun and funny as it is, will do a better job playing to the teenage and young adult crowds than the mature grown ups preferring to see another sequel of The Dark Knight. (Read the full review here).

Room 237:

The “1-4-0”: When I saw Stanley Kubrick’s The Shining, I had so many questions about the film, especially about its puzzling ending. The documentary “Room 237” answers almost every question you could possibly come up with to ask. From subliminal meanings on every key scene to conspiracy theories, this doc gives the most methodical breakdown of the film I have ever seen. I actually it gets to be too much at points. Analysts don’t appear screen, just their voices in the background. It’s tough not to see The Shining from a different perspective next time you watch it.
