Pregnant In School, Cobie Smulders Talks ‘Unexpected’ Movie

Cobie Smulders is a versatile actress, capable of working on a hit show on TV (How I Met Your Mother), blockbuster movies (The Avengers 1 & 2), or indie dramas such as her latest, Unexpected. In this role, she leaves behind all the glamour of Hollywood to really connect with a plethora of young women who get pregnant “unexpectedly”. We sat down with her, Anders Holm and director Kris Swanberg to a get a sense of the film and its origins.  

Official synopsis: An inner-city high school teacher discovers she is pregnant at the same time as one of her most promising students and the two develop an unlikely friendship while struggling to navigate their unexpected pregnancies.
