Eugenio Derbez is at again. His new film which he is producing and starring in with co-stars Anna Faris and Eva Longoria, is a remake of Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell’s “Overboard” from 1987. In other releases, Tom Hanks and Emma Watson engage us in a black mirror story about technology and social media and humanity in The Circle and Rami Malek leaves his Mr. Robot persona to give us Buster’s Mal Heart, a quirky thriller that is sure to make you see Malek with different eyes. It opened on just 347 screens, and earned $21,614 per theater, more than any other film this weekend! In my weekly syndicated radio segment on the Luis Jimenez Show, “Lengua, Cámara y Acción,” on X96.3FM IN NY, I broke down WHY the movie did so surprisingly well. I also tackled the CBS/Time Warner resolution and discuss the “Fifty Shades of Grey” casting choices! Listen to the radio segment now!
