‘Highly Relevant Podcast’ Ep. 9 – Should Tom Cruise Still Be Making Action Films?, ‘Queen Sugar,’ Broadway’s ‘Holiday Inn’

10.21.2016 | By |

On this ninth episode, I talk about Tom Cruise’s new movie ‘Jack Reacher: Never Go Back’ with my good friend Mike Sargeant as we tackle Tom’s career, his longevity and our opinions on why he doesn’t seem to want to collaborate with another A-List actor (3:20). We also review Broadway’s new family feel-good musical Holiday Inn (24:46) as well as take a look at Ava DuVernay’s Queen Sugar (21:34), and I ask a New Yorker what he’s seeing, listening and downloading (27:43), plus, we recap the most important pop culture news you might have missed this week. A Candid Interview With Nick Lachey On Ep.2 Of The ‘Highly Relevant’ Podcast

08.20.2016 | By |

I’m pretty proud of having produced the second episode of ‘Highly Relevant’ podcast all by myself (if you guys want to know bad enough how I did, I’ll write about it here one of these days). This week, I had the wonderful pleasure of interviewing Nick Lachey. He is someone whose work I not only admired with 98 Degrees and as a solo artist, but someone I had the distinct delight in working with at VH1’s Big Morning Buzz last year. You can listen beginning at (1:13). The three things that stood out the most from the interview were the 98 Degrees album he’s most proud of, the full story on how their biggest hit “The Hardest Thing” almost never got recorded and a Whoopi Goldberg quote he recited to me that will change anyone’s life.  Read More

10 Questions With VH1’s Carrie Keagan

09.28.2013 | By |

This coming Monday at 10AM, one of the coolest shows on daytime television is returning. It’s not on CBS, NBC or ABC. It’s on cable TV and it’s on VH1. The show is called Big Morning Buzz Live with Carrie Keagan. How do I know this? I have been on the show since its inception back in 2010 when it used to be a one week show promoting the Critics Choice Movie Awards, and its very creative producers, as well as its beautiful lead host, have infused daytime TV with the type of programming one usually watches late at night. It’s the best counter-programming to everything else at that time and the results are some of the more captivating TV you’ll see in daytime. I mean, even my mom who is 66, can’t stop watching it. It’s contagious, and dare I say – addictive TV. Read More

Interview: Alfonso Cuarón talks ‘Gravity’

09.21.2013 | By |

Alfonso Cuarón has come a long way from the streets of Mexico City. He’s now a three time Oscar nominee and has never won. But what I’m betting is that Cuarón will win one this year for his masterpiece film – Gravity.

When you see the film, you can easily see the movie being nominated for 7 Oscar awards – Best Picture, Best Director, Best Original Screenplay, Best Actress, Best Cinematography, Best VFX and Best Sound Mixing.

Cuarón recently sat down for an interview in Los Angeles with DP/30 to talk about the conception of the film, the production, and the new technology that is so great that audiences won’t notice any seams in the magic.
