5 Actors Who Could Reboot ‘Rocky’

10.27.2016 | By |

Creed was one of the surprise hits of 2015, and successfully revitalized the Rocky franchise in an unexpected way. While Sylvester Stallone stole the show as an aging Rocky training a protégé, it was Michael B. Jordan’s Adonis Johnson character that positioned himself to continue the series. That means that in some sense Rocky will continue, though it will do so through a new character. Coming Soon, which tends to have up-to-date information on release dates in addition to its regular film news, has said that there’s a tentative November 2017 release date for Creed 2 (which may or may not feature Stallone in a major role). New Trailer: ‘Creed,’ The Reboot Of The Rocky Franchise

07.1.2015 | By |

The Rocky franchise is getting a reboot with ‘Creed‘, the saga which continues with the son of Apollo Creed, Rocky Balboa’s original arch nemesis. The first trailer is officially out, which you can see above along with Sylvester Stallone playing in a supporting role, but what makes us not discard this reboot altogether is the director Ryan Coogler and star Michael B. Jordan. Both gave us one of the best indie dramas of 2013. With that same tone, Coogler plans on reinvigorating the classic, crowd pleasing franchise with a more youthful, dramatic vibe. will it work? it just might. ‘Creed’ opens on November 25, 2015. ‘Dredd 3D’: 3 questions with Karl Urban

09.17.2012 | By |

Karl Urban plays the character of Judge Dredd on ‘Dredd 3DLionsgate Rated R film, where in a violent futuristic city the police have the authority to act as judge, jury and executioner; he teams up with Anderson (Olivia Thirlby) a trainee to take down a gang that deals a reality-altering drug, called SLO-MO.

The film is derived from John Wagner and Carlos Ezquerra successful comic book from the 70’s. Sylvester Stallone played this same character in the film ‘Judge Dredd’ from 1995, which didn’t do so well, but fortunately this one redeems it, as it is one of the best 3D action films that we’ve seen all year thanks to director Pete Travis’ work. I had the opportunity to chat with the star of the film; Karl Urban where he told me about the challenges he encountered as well as what attracted him to the film and the talk of possible sequels. Sneak Peek of 'The Amazing Spider-Man' hits the world!

And so it begins. The Spider-Man marketing assault is in full effect. Wanna see an exclusive sneak peek of ‘The Amazing Spider-Man‘ Feb 6th? Then this link will have a very important significance to you: www.TheUntoldStoryBegins.com.

By registering on this link it will allow you to get 2 free tickets to see a sneak peek of Marc Webb’s ‘The Amazing Spider-Man’ in 13 of the most important cities in the world. New York is one of them, but it is sold out as well as Los Angeles. I know because I went on it and this is what I got… (see image below).

Curiously enoiugh, Mexico City so far has not sold out yet. Is it that word hasn’t gone out over there yet or Mexicans aren’t into Spider-Man? I registered there for kicks and giggles and managed to snap up 2 tickets for the Mexican capital. The pass is in our rockin’ Spanish language, but of course I’m not traveling down there to see it, but if you are reading this and live down there, you’re more than welcome to use it. We’ll leave the 2 Mexico passes in the below jpg. If they don’t work though, ShowBizCafe.com is not responsible.

Nevertheless, the sneak peek promises to provide the lucky winners never-before-seen footage in a global event. Along with the new footage, there will be other surprises associated with the event next week. The Amazing Spider-Man opens in Japan on June 30 and July 3 in the US. Rumor has it that Andrew Garfield will show up to either the NYC or LA one, but you never know.

Again, www.TheUntoldStoryBegins.com is the link where tickets can be reserved. Sneaks will take place in New York, Los Angeles, Berlin, London, Madrid, Paris, Mexico City, Moscow, Rio, Rome, Seoul, Sydney and Tokyo.

Take a look at the trailer here if you haven’t seen it yet.

F. Javier Gutiérrez to direct ‘The Crow’ remake

01.25.2012 | By |

F. Javier Gutiérrez to direct 'The Crow' remake

With so many problems to reboot the film The Crow,’ Relativity Media studio, Dimension Films and producer Edward R. Pressman, finally announced that they have signed an agreement with Spanish helmer F. Javier Gutierrez (Before the Fall) to direct the remake. The successful 1994 film became a popular cult hit starring Brandon Lee, son of Bruce Lee.

Gutiérrez’s directorial debut, the Spanish-language apocalyptic thriller Before the Fall (Tres Dias), became an international and award-winning sensation after premiering at the Berlinale Film Festival in 2008. In Spain, the film won Best Motion Picture and Best Screenplay at the 2008 Malaga Film Festival, the Miradas Award (TVE) for Best Motion Picture of the Year, and garnered nominations from the Spain Critics Awards.   In Europe, the film was a finalist for the 2008 European Film Awards and won main prizes in such science-fiction and fantasy film festivals as the Amsterdam Fantastic Film Festival, the Trieste Film Fesitval, and later in the U.S., picked up four awards at Los Angeles’ famed Horror Festival “Scream Fest” in 2009 (for editing, Gutiérrez’s directing, cinematography, and actor Victor Clavijo). The film also ranked #3 on the “International Watch List 2008”.  Gutiérrez is currently developing Dimension Films’ sci-fi thriller The Greys.

The Crow adaptation will be a gritty reboot of the iconic character Eric Draven, who returns from the grave as The Crow on a mission to avenge his wife’s murder, so that his soul can finally rest. The original film is known for its breakthrough visual style as well as its unique production design and cinematography.  The project is currently in development; start of production, targeted release dates and casting to be announced.

Pressman is currently in development on a reinvention of the iconic action film Bloodsport written by Robert Kamen (Taken) and to be directed by Phillip Noyce (Salt). The latest feature from Pressman, The Moth Diaries, directed by Mary Harron (American Psycho), will be released by IFC Films later this year.
