Justin Bieber, Paris Hilton and Pitbull released spanking new tracks for our hearing pleasures (or displeasures) this week, and of course, I have a thing or two say about each of them.
Justin Bieber â âHeartbreakerâ
Since June, Bieber promised that his single âHeartbreakerâ would come out âsoonâ making fans paranoid that the song would hit the web while they slept. After months of losing sleep, itâs safe to say that The Biebs delivered and in a major way! Iâll be the first to admit that I am not a Justin Bieber fan, but I know a good song when I hear one, and âHeartbreakerâ is pretty much mind blowing.
This 19-year-old Canadian manages to take you on a ride back to the 90s with his rendition of contemporary R&B. Remember Boyz II Men and BabyFace? I definitely wonât say that Bieber is as good or better than them but he surely comes close to recreating that âbaby making musicâ sound that we remember them for â the soft and flawless vocals, the undying love lyrics and of course the drum machine beat. Bieber, my hat is off to you.
Paris Hilton Feat. Lil Wayne â âGood Timeâ
Seven years ago Paris Hilton put out her debut album âParis,â which managed to reach the No. 6 spot on Billboardâs 200. From the albumâs first single, âStars are Blind,â it is easy to see that Paris does have musical talent, so much so that she evens sounds like Gwen Stefani on the song. Unfortunately with âGood Timeâ the heiress regressed. Her lyrics about being “typsy” and bringing her “sexy girls” to party are awful and make the 33-year-old sound juvenile, and sorry adding Lil Wayne to the mix doesnât help in the least. The only thing that will truly save this single from plummeting on the charts is the sick EDM-pop tune created by Afrojack, the only smart move in this train wreck of a song.
Pitbull Feat. Ke$ha â âTimberâ
The first time I heard this song my jaw dropped to the floor, not because I thought it was amazing or terrible, but because I just didnât know what to think â Pitbull and country? Thankfully after listening to the harmonica-infused single about 20 times in a rowm, I finally figured out that itâs pretty hot. The song is nothing like his latest bangers, âEcha Paâllaâ or âDonât Stop the Party,â but itâs still just as good, just in a different way. Instead of fist pumping, âTimberâ makes me want to bust out that âCotton-Eyed Joeâ routine I learned in camp as a kid â leave it to Pitbull to make a hillbilly jam a contemporary dance hit.
So ladies and gents, what do you think about this weekâs new tracks? Do you agree or disagree, let us know in the comments below.Â
