Colombian superstar Juanes is set to rock television screens across the country as he headlines the season premiere of “Austin City Limits.”
For nearly 37 years the PBS award-winning music show has brought the best of the best in music to viewers at home and this time around is no exception. On Oct. 5, seven years after his first visit, Juanes returns to the historic stage to bring audiences his critically-acclaimed “Loud & Unplugged Tour.”
During November of last year, I had the opportunity to attend his Sandy Benefit concert at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center, and I have to say that it is one of the best live shows I have ever been to. It is during a live presentation that audiences are able to really see the quality of an artist, and Juanes is in a class of his own as he connects with fans on levels that go deeper than his music. During concerts the singer speaks to the crowd, dances along with them and by the end of the night leaves them feeling empowered and ready to go change the world.
Surely, Terry Lickona Executive Producer for ACL would agree that the Colombian performer is one of the best live acts. “Juanes is the first Latin artist since Ricky Martin to break out and transcend musical and cultural barriers,” he said on a press release. “Audiences connect with him on many levels, and his charisma on stage is magnetic!

If you weren’t able to catch one the concerts from his latest tour, this premiere is worth a watch. Not only will you be able to see the singer up close and personal, but will also enjoy his best work. The taping list for the show includes some of the singer’s hits as well as a song from one of the singer’s hero, Bob Marley. You can look forward to “Fijate Bien,” “Could You Be Loved,” “La Camisa Negra,” “Yerbatero,” “La Noche” and “A Dios Le Pido.”
If you have seen Juanes live, do you agree that he is a great performer? If not, let us know if you look forward to this TV special.
