My Top 10 Favorite Films of 2018

'Can You Ever Forgive Me?' is brilliant filmmaking, and in my opinion, my favorite movie of 2018. Bolstered by two of the finest performances of the year by Melissa McCarthy and Richard E. Grant, this film brims with stellar direction, grand cinematography, and writing - all from women. Uplifted by an alluring premise and cast, the nostalgia of New York's eroding literary and artistic culture draws you in with its tense-fill drama, poignancy, and moments of magnificent comedy. A gem amongst the great films of this year.

Elegant, nostalgic and charming, Robert Redford's last film, 'Old Man & The Gun,' is an homage to many of the honest, old-fashioned films of the 70's and 80's of American cinema, which Redford himself starred in. This heist-film boasts some terrific writing, great chemistry between the leads, and charm, charm, charm.

It's a fascinating look at the ambitious, experimental mind of a master director.

'Bohemian Rhapsody' is the surprise film of 2018. The success of the biopic is due to the use of Queen's unforgettable music, its devoted fanbase, and the career-defining performance of Rami Malek. The Live Aid scene is required viewing. It will give you chills.
