The new “Transformers” movie casts aside the Shia LaBeouf for Mark Wahlberg who plays Cade Yeager, an inventor and single father, trying to protect his daughter Tessa (Nicola Peltz) from her race car driver boyfriend, Shane (Jack Reynor).
Cade’s overprotectiveness goes into overdrive with new focus when he’s thrust into the middle of the ancient rivalry between Optimus Prime‘s Autobots and the ruthless Decepticons. Four years have passed since the Battle of Chicago, but the Transformers’ impact has left a deep scar on all of mankind — and now, just as that scar has started to heal, it looks like the eternal conflict between Autobots and Decepticons is about to reopen old wounds.
While some fans are divided over Michael Bay’s return to the “Transformers” universe, there’s one silver lining that just about everyone can agree upon: Finally, at long last, we’re getting the Dinobots in a live-action “Transformers” movie. There’s simply no way that Grimlock doesn’t work on the big-screen … right?
“Transformers: Age of Extinction” hits theaters on June 27.
