As we all expected, Star Wars: The Force Awakens is the highest grossing opening movie in film history. What most of us didn’t know was what number it was ultimately going to arrive at. Now we know. The Walt Disney Studios announced today that Star Wars: The Force Awakens has set a new all-time domestic debut record with an estimated $238M. With a five-day international debut of $279M, the film has taken in $517M globally. Now these numbers could still change, but not by much. Read More

The new ‘X-Men: Apocalypse‘ trailer features a really good cast with the likes of Oscar winner Jennifer Lawrence, Oscar nominee Michael Fassbender and respected actors such as Oscar Isaac and James McAvoy. Great casts don’t necessarily mean great movies, but it’s nice to know that high level of dramatic skill is being invested into these productions. Read More

This brand new Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice trailer, the second of many more, introduces key characters such as Lex Luthor, Clark Kent and Wonder Woman. The trailer though is not as good, in my mind, as excludes action for exposition. The principle driver here is the a dialogue, a tête-à-tête that should epic, but ultimately, seems more interesting than epic. Read More
