THE 1-4-0: It’s hard to know whether to rejoice over the catchy tunes or grieve over the depressing thematic of Robin Thicke’s latest creation.

Itâs not called the entertainment industry for no reason, and boy do some entertainers really take their title seriously sometimes, thankfully for us, making for awkwardly-great TV and viral moments! The latest offender is Erykah Badu who tried to kiss-attack her way into the 5 p.m. news.

The viewing for the World Cup 2014 has increased tremendously, but that hasn’t stopped people from going to the movies, evident by the ‘Transformers 4’ box office numbers. 10 new film releases will be competing for your eyeballs and money this week. This is perhaps one of the more weaker weeks for quality films. If the “big” release is WB ‘Tammy,’ we’re all in trouble. There are some good movies to see such as ‘Earth to Echo’ and ‘Life Itself,’ but we see the return of Bernardo Bertolucci behind the camera, Nick Cannon does his debut as a director, and the animated Spanish language drama ‘Wrinkles’ draws interest. After the jump, youâll see a list ranked by order of my interest. Reminiscent of Steven Spielberg’s produced “Twister,” this natural disaster movie looks more like a Universal Theme Park Ride than a movie. Fun was the first reaction I got after watching the trailer, but Lifetime movie was clearly my second. Nevertheless, let’s give “Into The Storm” a chance, it might surprise some. Check out the trailer now! Read More

The “1-4-0″: #TransformersAgeOfExtinction is an overload of action that lasts a whopping 2HRS 45MIN. Heavy on the action, thin in the story department. Read More

The last WWII movie I saw was “Monuments Men” by George Clooney. It was a disappointment. Clooney’s best friend, Brad Pitt, has decided to do one as well but with more bite, more drama, and darker. Watch the trailer of “Fury” which also stars Michael Peña, Shia LeBouef, and Logan Lerman. Is it Oscar-worthy? Read More

We’re into the middle 2014 World Cup and 12 new film releases will be competing for your eyeballs and money this week. Full of some big names from television and film, some of the most compelling pieces are Chris Evans’ Snowpiercer which is a supposed sci-fi force, Paul Rudd and Amy Poehler team up for the very first time, Maroon 5 singer Adam Levine does his film debut, an iconic fashion designer gets his own biopic, a few documentaries showcase some thought-provoking subjects and one of Philip K. Dick‘s stories finds itself to the big creen again. After the jump, you’ll see a list ranked by order of my interest. Read More

Every week on The Rico Report I do the only local and national movie review segment in Spanish on Telemundo NY, where I review the brand new releases of the week and tell my viewers what movie they should spend their money on. Think of it as a community service in saving you some cash. This week, I review the following films: ‘Think Like A Man Too,’ Clint Eastwood’s ‘Jersey Boys,’ and ‘Third Person’ starring Liam Neeson.
