In a really, really, really bad year for animated movies, we finally get to see, perhaps, the frontrunner to the Best Animated Feature at the Oscars – Frozen – from Walt Disney Animation Studios (Tangled, Wreck-It Ralph). Its toughest competitor will most likely be The Wind Rises by legendary animation director Hayao Miyazaki (Spirited Away, Howl’s Moving Castle). The reunion that wasn’t supposed to happen is actually happening! Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels unveil the first three photos of them in characters as Lloyd Christmas and Harry Dunne, respectively, on the set of ‘Dumb & Dumber To’. The long-awaited sequel is currently filming in Georgia, more than 20 years after the original cult classic became a worldwide phenomenon.
Jim Carrey tweeted the first image with the caption: ‘Lloyd and Harry are back!’ followed by an image of the duo reading a book upside down. Fans across Social Media have been losing their minds over the nostalgia of seeing the Farrelly brothers’ iconic duo back in action. Looks like Lifetime’s new Latina themed show Devious Maids is a bonafide hit and a bonafide hit with Hispanics too as 19% of them in total viewers nearly doubles that of Lifetime’s primetime average. In other words, 9.5% of Hispanics watch other Lifetime programming vs. 19% of them watching Devious Maids. You can attribute the success of the show to specific themes: Latina protagonists, Latino themed situations, guilty pleasure escapism and a sexy Latin vibe to the show has really become a point of engagement TV for Hispanics.
