After appearing in the awful horror thriller Aftershock by Chilean director Nicolás López, but redeeming herself in Harmony Korine’s Spring Breakers, superstar Selena Gomez is ready to embrace even more screen time in WB’s Getaway. This B action thriller which looks like something Liam Neeson would have done 20 years ago, has a brand new poster with Selena’s name and face nicely featured. Check it out below!

With a new album and tour in tow, Gomez is really taking off at a much higher level than her boyfriend Justin Bieber who has no movie projects in the near future.

Official synopsis: Getaway is the gritty, heart-pounding action thriller from Warner Bros. Pictures and Dark Castle Entertainment in which former race car driver Brent Magna (Ethan Hawke) is pitted against the clock. Desperately trying to save the life of his kidnapped wife, Brent commandeers a custom Shelby Cobra Mustang, taking it and its unwitting owner (Selena Gomez) on a high-speed race against time, at the command of the mysterious villain holding his wife hostage.

Getaway will be released August 30th, 2013.
