Everyday there are several film trailers coming out, but there are only some that have “it” factor to capture your attention in under two minutes. From dramas, to comedies, to animation and more, these six clips managed to be the best trailers recently released:
6. âGet On Upâ â Tate Taylor (Aug. 1)
Universal has issued the second look at James Brown biopic âGet On Upâ helmed by Tate Taylor. In this hot new trailer we get a peak into the family struggles of Brownâs younger years and his rise to fame. With Chadwick Boseman as James Brown, Viola David as his mother, Octavia Spencer as Aunt Honey and the addicting tunes of the legendary musician, itâs safe to predict that this film will have the potential to reach the level of 2004âs âRay.”
5. âA Walk Among The Tombstonesâ – Scott Frank (Sept. 19)
Universal Pictures has released the first trailer for the upcoming âA Walk Among the Tombstonesâ starring Liam Neeson. In this twisted drama-actioner the actor plays Matthew Scudder, an ex cop turned unlicensed private investigator, hired by a heroin trafficker to find out who kidnapped and murdered his wife. Yes, weâve seen this basic story before, but the trailer suggests that Scott Frank has raised the bar, of course with the help of Neeson.
4. âThis Is Where I Leave Youâ â Shawn Levy (Sept. 12)

This is the first trailer for âThis Is Where I Leave You,â latest comedy from director Shawn Levy. After their father dies, four siblings are forced by their mother to spend a week together in their childhood home. Tina Fey, Jason Bateman and Jane Fonda make the perfect cast for this lighthearted comedy film, which from the looks of the trailer promises to be filled with all the awkward heartbreak moments, sexual anecdotes, and emotional family moments that you could ever want, not to mention an awesome left hook by the lovely Tina Fey.
3. âHerculesâ â Brett Ratner (July 25)

Paramount released the second trailer for âHerculesâ starring Dwayne âThe Rockâ Johnson as the son of Zeus himself. This clip finally allows audiences into the core of the filmâs action and it looks like it will be epic! This summer, be ready to shout: âI AM HERCULES!â
2. âWhat Ifâ â Michael Dowse (Aug. 8)

This is the first trailer for Michael Dowseâs rom-com âWhat Ifâ starring Daniel Radcliffe as Wallace, a med-school dropout forms an instant conection with Ruby Sparks (Zoe Kazan), an animator who lives with her longtime boyfriend Ben, causing him to get friend-zoned. This looks to be a fun hipster-comedy reminiscent of â500 Days Of Summer,â and who didnât love that film?
1. “The Book Of Life” â Jorge R. Gutierrez (Oct. 17)

The first trailer for the upcoming 3-D animated âBook of Lifeâ by director Jorge Gutierrez and producer Guillermo del Toro will take audiences into the colorful Mexican celebration of Dia de los Muertos! The story follows a love battle between Manolo, a bullfighting musician (Diego Luna) and Joaquin, a macho heartthrob (Channing Tatum) as they try to win over the heart of Maria (Zoe Saldaña). From the looks of the clip, not only will audiences get a delightful taste of Mexican culture, an animated look into del Toroâs fascination mystical and terrifying creatures, and a star-studded Latino cast that promises to make us laugh and swoon.
