Sony Pictures just released the new international trailer of “One Direction: This Is Us“. There are some slight changes compared to the US version but it all gives a great insight to the phenomenon that is “1D” (you hardcore fans know what I’m talking about). Will this movie be a success?
The band One Direction joins an exclusive club of musicians that warranted a documentary to be made about them based on their popularity – Miley Cyrus had a rock-doc film done about her, Justin Bieber, Katy Perry, Joe Jonas, Tony Bennett, Michael Jackson to mention some of the top of my head. The Beatles started it all with A Hard Days Night and Help. Today I’m still wondering why New Kids On The Block and New Edition never made their own film? God only knows there were rumors about them.
Synopsis: ONE DIRECTION: THIS IS US is a captivating and intimate all-access look at life on the road for the global music phenomenon. Weaved with stunning live concert footage, this inspiring feature film tells the remarkable story of Niall, Zayn, Liam, Harry and Louis’ meteoric rise to fame, from their humble hometown beginnings and competing on the X-Factor, to conquering the world and performing at London’s famed O2 Arena. Hear it from the boys themselves and see through their own eyes what it’s really like to be One Direction. Directed by Morgan Spurlock (Super Size Me) and produced by Simon Cowell, Adam Milano, Spurlock and Ben Winston.
Let us know if you think One Direction: This Is Us will be #1 at the box office. The film will be released August 30th in the US theaters.
