How many times have you seen Mary Poppins? 5, 10? Ever wonder how it made it to the big screen? Disney’s brand new film, Saving Mr. Banks, will answer that question and we have the first trailer for you to see!

Starring Tom Hanks as Walt Disney himself and Emma Thompson as P.L. Travers, the movie, based on a true story, travels back in time to when Walt Disney’s daughters begged him to make a movie of their favorite book, P.L. Travers’ “Mary Poppins”. He made them the promise—one that he didn’t realize would take 20 years to keep. In his quest to obtain the rights, Walt comes up against a curmudgeonly, uncompromising writer who has absolutely no intention of letting her beloved magical nanny get mauled by the Hollywood machine. But, as the books stop selling and money grows short, Travers reluctantly agrees to go to Los Angeles to hear Disney’s plans for the adaptation.

Well whatever Walt did, Mary Poppins won 5 Academy Awards of its 13 nods. What is weird to see is someone else actually playing Walt Disney himself. This is actually the first film to depict the iconic entrepreneur.
