Chabuco: A Colombian Innovating Vallenato Music with Latin Jazz

Colombia is a country known for its salsa and vallenato. Vallenato is the folkloric, poetic music of its coast which its singer/songwriter Jose Dario Martinez Acosta, aka Chabuco, has been listening to since he was a child due to his father’s influence, the legendary guitarist Hugues Martinez. With his fourth solo album titled Encuentro, he mixes the sounds of vallenato from the Caribbean coast of Colombia, with jazz and bossa nova, resulting in a beautiful and unique sound of Latin Jazz.

I can’t believe this movie is actually going to be released. When I lived in Colombia as a kid, I used get sick a lot and one of the most satisfying things I used to ask my Aunt Doris to bring me to the hospital to make me feel better were Condorito comics. Those PLOP! moments were everything for me. I would laugh so much from the drawings, the charatcters, the dialogue, it was all so funny to me. Kate Del Castillo Makes Her Return To The Small Screen In Netflix’s ‘Ingobernable’

On March 24, Netflix will launch the first season of the anticipated Mexican original series, Ingobernable. The thriller and drama series will debut at 12am and feature a total of 15 episodes that will tell the story of a Mexican Presidential family and how in a matter of seconds everything can change. Kate del Castillo (Emilia Urquiza) and Erik Hayser (Diego Nava) portray the First Lady and President of Mexico. Emilia Urquiza, is the First Lady of Mexico with big plans to improve conditions for the country through her commitment to fighting for peace. As Emilia starts to lose faith in her husband, President Diego Nava, she finds herself at a crossroad where she will need to find a way to deal with a great challenge and uncover the truth.
