Alien Invasion Movie ‘The 5th Wave’ Releases First Official Trailer

09.14.2015 | By |

Alien movies are a dime a dozen now a days and no Hollywood studio can seem to get them right anymore. Battleship was a fun disaster, Godzilla was only good when it could’ve been grat, and I can go on and on. The last good one I saw was Spielberg’s War of the Worlds. But The 5th Wave seems like it can provide some good tension, suspense and fun time at the theaters. Just look at the plane scene, tell me that didn’t wig you out? Read More

Sandra Bullock’s New Trailer ‘Our Brand Is Crisis’ Has Bolivia As Backdrop

09.8.2015 | By |

It’s rare to see Hollywood backing a film with a central Latin American backdrop, especially that of a country such as Bolivia. But that is exactly what is happening with Our Brand is Crisis, from director David Gordon Green, starring Oscar winners Sandra Bullock and Billy Bob Thornton. The film is really about the rivalry of two Presidential campaign strategists that happens to take place in Bolivia. Nevertheless, its nice to see Hollywood open-minded enough to allow a Latin American country to serve as the setting of a story. Read More

This Week In Movies… ‘The Transporter: Refueled,’ ‘Un Gallo Con Muchos Huevos’

08.31.2015 | By |

We begin the month of September this week and Labor Day is almost upon us. With summer almost done, the new releases for the next several days will try to provide us with a good laugh, because this week the comedies are really taking over. With such films as: Addicted to Fresno, Break Point, Bloodsucking Bastards and a Walk in the Woods, you could have some good chuckles, but if you are in the mood for something more edgy and informative, the documentary A Sinner in Mecca will open your eyes to a world that not many people have seen, from the point of view of openly gay muslim director Parvez Sharma. This Week In Movies… ‘We Are Your Friends,’ ‘No Escape’

08.25.2015 | By |

This is the last week of August and what better way to close up the month then with some variety films at the big screen. Zac Efron in We are your Friends, a very cool summer film about the life and struggles of an aspiring DJ in today’s electronic music scene. The film No Escape, an action thriller in which we will find a very serious Owen Wilson in a role that we have never seen him play, the action hero.  Read More

This Week In Movies… ‘Straight Outta Compton,’ ‘The Man From U.N.C.L.E.’

08.11.2015 | By |

The second week of August brings us very little cinematic value despite seeing the anticipated hip-hop biopic, Straight Outta Compton, and Guy Ritchie’s The Man From U.N.C.L.E. on the calendar release. Ritchie, the inconsistent, but influential British helmer with a profusion of talent, is back to his lightning speed editing and MTV visual style in the new TV show spy adaptation. Will this film reinvigorate his career?   Read More

James Bond Travels To Mexico City In Official ‘Spectre’ Trailer

07.22.2015 | By |

In this brand new official trailer, James Bond infiltrates a secret meeting and uncovers the existence of the sinister organization known as SPECTRE. It’s great to see Bond visiting a Latin American city, specially one as culturally impressive as Mexico City. This is Daniel Craig‘s last Bond movie and from the looks of it, it should be on equal footing as Casino Royale, which to me, is the best Bond movie Craig has done. The movie will release November 6th. Read More

This Week In Movies: ‘Southpaw,’ ‘Paper Towns,’ ‘Pixels’

07.21.2015 | By |

The middle of July means three things: It’s time to head to the beach; it’s time to relax and its time to check out some movies. For that last summer fact, we are here to help. There are eight films being released and there is a little something for everyone. Mexican American actor Michael Peña is starring in The Vatican Tapes, a film that one wouldn’t expect at this time of the year. The lovely Cobie Smulders, with whom we had a chance to chat with, is starring in Unexpected, a peculiar comedic drama about a teacher and a student who become pregnant in the same time frame. If you are into foreign films, you will not be disappointed with Samba or Phoenix. Read More

Salma Hayek and Jessica Alba in Some Kind of Beautiful

07.17.2015 | By |

Updated April 2026

Latina power! It is a rarity when two A-List latinas get together for a Hollywood movie. Salma Hayek, Jessica Alba should be a great watch!

Hayek did it Penelope Cruz for ‘Bandidas’ but got no interest back in 2006. Will this one work? Glad to see power Latinas getting together to make some ol’ fashion Hollywood fare.

Watch the trailer and let us know what you think! Read More
