Edgar Ramirez To Star In “Point Break” Remake

05.14.2014 | By |

While all hell is breaking loose in Venezuela, at least one of their sons, actor Edgar Ramirez, is a shining light. His career is slowly but surely on a steady rise. After appearances in Hollywood movies such as The Bourne Ultimatum, Ridley Scott’s The Counselor, Wrath of the Titans, a key role in 2013’s Zero Dark Thirty, and his star role in the blockbuster Latin American film “Libertador” (about the life of Simon Bolivar), Ramirez has just been announced as Gerard Butler’s replacement in the classic Keanu Reeves remake of “Point Break“. This Week In Movies: ‘Godzilla,’ ‘Million Dollar Arm,’ ‘The Immigrant’

05.12.2014 | By |

The unofficial Summer Movie month of May continues to release less films than April, 13 movie releases total, but they seem to be more intriguing and eye catching. Many are awaiting, arguably, the most anticipated summer movie in ‘Godzilla,’ which is exactly what people think it’s going to be – dark, plausible, fine acting and CGI bonkers. Also Jon Hamm tries to transition over to movies in a Disney film, Joaquin Phoenix is the star of ‘The Immigrant‘ but it seems to be getting no love on buzz. Nevertheless, the other indie titles are worth a look. Peruse at your leisure and see if anything else catches your attention! Read More

This Week In Movies: ‘Neighbors,’ ‘Chef,’ ‘Stage Fright’

05.5.2014 | By |

We begin the second week of May with 11 movie releases, and I have to say, most of them are interesting. Not much on the comercial side catches my eye, but the films in limited release do. “Chef” is Jon Favreau like you’ve never seen him before. It’s an honest performance for an honest movie about family and food. The Double along with God’s Pocket, which sees one of Philip Seymour Hoffman’s last performances seems to deliver the goods. Peruse at your leisure and see if anything else catches your attention! Read More
