New Trailer: ‘The Raid 2: Berandal’

01.21.2014 | By |

Sony Pictures Classics has released the brand new trailer for the sequel “The Raid 2: Berandal” before its worldwide debut at the 2014 Sundance Film Festival. The Raid, in my opinion, was the best action film of 2012 and my hopes are that this Indonesian flick can provide the same doses of ultra-adrenalyn-highly-electric action fun that we were in shock to get with the first one.

The film opens in select theaters March 28.  Read More

2014 Oscar Nominations: The Complete List

01.16.2014 | By |

This is the second year in a row where movies have been at a premium. So tough to pick who and what should be nominated that many people who deserved to be nominated were left out. RUSH by Ron Howard and INSIDE LLEWYN DAVIS were perhaps the most noteworthy absences. Nevertheless, PHILOMENA, HER and DALLAS BUYERS CLUB got some well deserved love with 4, 5 and 6 nods respectively. But it was AMERICAN HUSTLE and GRAVITY whom each received 10 nominations. A victory already for Mexican director Alfonso Cuarón.

Here is the complete list of 2014 Oscar nominations:

BEST MOTION PICTURE – DRAMA
12 Years a Slave
Captain Phillips
Gravity
Philomena
American Hustle
The Wolf of Wall Street

Ultimately, it is my opinion that the Globes erred in some of the selections which the Oscars will hopefully correct this Thursday, Jan. 16th with its nominations. Read More

New Trailer: ‘The Other Woman’

12.20.2013 | By |

‘The Other Woman’ is the type of romantic comedy romps that I like. That doesn’t mean I’ll feel the same after I see it, but I anticipate it. What is captivating me is to see how the screenwriters will have these 3 beautiful women deal with this situation. Also, Cameron Diaz and Leslie Mann should create some very funny cinematic memories and I’m curious to see the film debut of Kate Upton. I’m rooting for her. Read More
