If you haven’t had a chance to catch up on the latest movies, I shared my top films of 2022 on PIX 11 News’ ‘New York Living’ hosted by Marysol Castro and Star Harvey. It was great to talk about the amazing films that are coming out this year, and I think you’re really going to enjoy them too.
2022 had some seriously good films, and I wanted to share my personal favorites with you. Now, these aren’t necessarily the highest-grossing or the most critically praised. My picks are the ones that really moved me in some way. Here are my top films of 2022:
-
Top Gun: Maverick: This may not be the most artsy film out there, but it made me feel like a kid again with that 80s classic movie magic. This is the film that brought audiences flooding back to theaters.
-
Tár: This one’s a thinker. We follow a brilliant but troubled conductor – think female Leonard Bernstein – as she tackles themes of cancel culture and power dynamics. Cate Blanchett shines, and she’s the frontrunner for the Best Actress Oscar.
-
Everything Everywhere All at Once: Mind-bending doesn’t even begin to describe it. Multiverses, crazy family drama, and an incredible Michelle Yeoh – this movie has it all. Plus, its message about choosing love and acceptance for all versions of yourself? That resonates with anyone.
-
Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery: I love a good mystery, and this sequel with Daniel Craig’s Benoit Blanc was a blast. I enjoyed how it explored the darker sides of wealth and friendship, wrapped in a delicious whodunnit package.
-
Moonage Daydream: The best documentary I saw all year. It’s a wild and visually stunning look at David Bowie. You can feel the filmmaker’s passion in every frame. If you’re a Bowie fan, or even if you just like unconventional docs, this one’s for you.
¡Nos vemos en el cine!
