Video: Disney’s latest behind-the-scenes featurette of “The Lone Ranger”

07.1.2013 | By |

I have to say that when I first heard of Disney greenlighting The Lone Ranger, I had some major questions, in particular why Johnny Depp wasn’t in the lead role and whether action westerns are still a viable and economical avenue to amuse film-goers and generate a profit. Disney invited me to a sneak peek about a month ago and… I was pleasantly surprised. From the close to 20 minutes I saw, it was worth watching. Here is the latest The Lone Ranger featurette called “In the Elements” that should give you a better understanding of what you’ll be paying to see at the box office! Read More

Stallone, Schwarzenegger: First Trailer For ‘Escape Plan’!

06.29.2013 | By |

Back in the 80s, Escape Plan would have been the movie of the year! Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger in the same movie-going one-on-one in leading roles!? What!! That’s what I’m talking about. But now both are evidently old, still living off their glory day reputations. Stallone more than Schwarzenegger is in better shape and can still have hand-to-hand combat battles, but Arnold just looks frail (they were also seen in The Expendables, but that was more a cameo than anything by Arnold). Check out the first trailer above and the new poster, plus pics after the jump. Despicable Me 2: New Trailer Starring Benjamin Bratt

06.29.2013 | By |

Universal Pictures just sent me Benjamin Bratt‘s personal presentation of the new Hispanic trailer for Despicable Me 2. It highlights the Latino villain… El Macho. Like Superman, he has an alter-ego named Eduardo, a warm, charming, and flirty owner of the popular Salsa & Salsa restaurant whose passionate Latin dancing causes women to swoon. Read More

Best Father’s Day movies in theaters right now!

06.16.2013 | By |

“A father is supposed to be the one man who will never give up one you …” – Anonymous

Today Father’s Day, gifts are flying left and right to tell Dad how much we love him. He’s getting calls from loved ones, ties, an iPad, a fancy dinner and more. But you maybe just want some one on one time and nothing does that better than going to the movies. You get to catch up, watch a film, then after, you get some grub and maybe hit the batting cage for ol’ times sake.

So as opposed as to giving you the traditional a list of DVD’s to watch at home, here are my four best recommendations to watch in theaters right now. Read More

Devious Maids (TV Review)

06.9.2013 | By |

*Updated March 2026

Devious Maids is worth a watch for at least the first two episodes, but it is definitely not must-see TV the way Desperate Housewives was in its first season. Created by Marc Cherry, the Lifetime drama attempts to blend mystery with social commentary through a specific cultural lens. Read More

The Internship (Movie Review)

Selena Gomez’s New Movie Trailer of ‘Getaway’

06.6.2013 | By |

Unlike her eyeblink appearance in the god-awful Aftershock, Selena Gomez is at least in half of the new action thriller Getaway starring Ethan Hawke. He, by the way, has already been in two movies this year – Before Midnight (one of this year’s best) and The Purge (a follow-up horror thriller after Sinister from 2012).

After Spring Breakers and Aftershock, Gomez is really trying to break into acting all while maintaining a healthy music career. She’s about to drop a new album called Stars and Dance along with a US tour.

I still can’t get a chance to judge if she can really act. I think she has the potential to be very good, but I really need to see her with better actors around her. Read More
