Leonardo DiCaprio is the star of Baz Luhrmann’s latest film, “The Great Gatsby” in which the actor plays Jay Gatsby, a fabulous party-giving man with a mysterious past who comes out of nowhere and buys a mansion on Long Island, across the bay from his one true love and obsession, the now married Daisy Buchanan. Can Paz Vega reclaim her Hollywood status with Paul W.S. Anderson's "Pompeii"?

First she was a young immigrant mother from Mexico who worked as a housekeeper while she lived in a “Spanglish” world, now she will travel back in time to play a ruler priestess.

According to Variety, Paz Vega will join the cast of “Pompeii,” a historical drama directed by Paul W.S. Anderson.

The film is set in A.D. 79, in the days leading to the eruption of Mt. Vesuvius which buried the Roman city of Pompeii and tells the story of a slave on a ship who is working to get home to save the woman he loves and his best friend, a gladiator trapped inside the city’s coliseum.  Read More

Since before the 1930s, a bag of popcorn has been the most prominent companion of a movie, but as times change and the populations shift so do the old-school ways.

Slowly but surely it’s been hitting the movie industry that Latino is the way to go, so lo and behold, diversified concessions offerings.   According to Deadline, a new vendor has hit the CinemaCon floor this year, a popular Mexican corn chip snack called Takis, made by Barcel USA, looking to be the pioneer of a new movie experience.  Read More

Oblivion (Movie Review)

04.19.2013 | By |

From engrossingly existential to plain ol’ dumbed-down is how I would describe the trek from beginning to end in Tom Cruise’s new movie “Oblivion” from director Joseph Kosinski. Overall, “Oblivion” is a good film, but not a great film. It does possess outstanding visuals (Chilean Claudio Miranda is responsible) and another solid performance from Tom Cruise, but the script towards the end, a combination between a novela romance and contrived plot twists, drags the film from a superb movie to just a slightly better than average affair. First look at the new THOR: THE DARK WORLD poster!

First look at the new THOR: THE DARK WORLD poster!

I just got my hands on Marvel’s new teaser poster “Thor: The Dark World” poster. From what I’m looking at, the poster looks great for a teaser, very Highlanderish from 1986, if you ask me.

The film brings back Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Tom Hiddleston, Stellan Skarsgård, Idris Elba, Christopher Eccleston, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Kat Dennings, Ray Stevenson, Zachary Levi, Tadanobu Asano, and Jaimie Alexander with Rene Russo and Anthony Hopkins as Odin. Read More
