The Spirit (Movie Review)

What can I say about Frank Miller’s The Spirit? If you don’t know, this is the same guy who brought you Sin City and my favorite, 300.

I was definitely setting my standards high. It was bad. It is about this cop who gets murdered in the line of duty. He is then brought back to life by an experimental drug. Once realizing his super abilities, he decides to fight crime.

It has a notable cast. Eva Mendes and Scarlett Johansson are in the movie. If it was not for them, I would have gotten up and left the theater. It was confusing and bored me. It did not make any sense to me. Samuel L. Jackson stars in it as well. The more I watch his movies, the more he annoys me. I don’t know what it is. I just know its super disappointing.

The movie is filmed well. It did have that Sin City and 300 feel to it, but that is about it. Maybe that is why it only made 4 million at the box office opening weekend.
