This Week In Movies: ‘Don’t Let Go,’ ‘Saaho,’ ‘Ne Zha’

‘This Week In Movies’ is a weekly column that catches you up on all the new film releases coming out in theaters. This week, only 7 films make their debut. Will you watch any? Read on!

This week’s new releases feel like the movies you see after an hour of searching the Netflix archives and these are the only films that come up. Perhaps the most interesting movies that even intrigue me are the Bollywood film Saaho and the Asian animation Ne Zha. The rest feel generic. Synopsis: After a man’s family dies in what appears to be a murder, he gets a phone call from one of the dead, his niece. He’s not sure if she’s a ghost or if he’s going mad, but as it turns out, he’s not.

Before You Know It (98m, Comedy)
Director: Hannah Pearl Utt
Cast: Linda Arroz, Alec Baldwin, Ben Becher, Blake Berris
Synopsis: A pair of sisters find out that the mother they thought was dead is alive and starring in a soap opera.

It blends a thrilling story with commercial elements of storytelling to deliver a high-octane action entertainer appealing to all segments of the audience.

Ne Zha (1hr 50m, Animation | Fantasy | Thriller)

Cast: Yanting LÃ, Joseph, Mo Han, Hao Chen
Synopsis: The Primus extracts a Mixed Yuan Bead into a spirit bead and a demon bead. The spirit bead can be reincarnated into a human to help King Zhou establish a new dynasty, the demon bead will create a devil and harm humans. Ne Zha is the one who should be the spirit bead hero but he becomes a devil incarnate because the spirit bead and the demon bead are switched.

Killerman (R, Action | Crime | Drama | Mystery | Thriller)

Cast: Liam Hemsworth, Emory Cohen, Diane Guerrero, Zlatko Buric
Synopsis: Moe Diamond is a New York City money launderer who wakes up with no memory and millions of dollars in stolen cash and drugs. He must soon scour the streets in search of answers while trying to dodge a crew of violent and crooked cops.

Synopsis: Adan (Omar Chaparro) is a charming seducer who believes he knows how to make any woman swoon. Mia (Martha Higareda) is an ambitious producer who dreams of having her TV show on women empowerment called “Todos Caen,” a strategic guide to dating that teaches you just how to hook a man- and have him eating from the palm of your hand in no time.

Bennett’s War (PG-13, 95m, Sport)

Synopsis: After surviving an IED explosion in combat overseas, a young soldier with the Army Motorcycle Unit is medically discharged with a broken back and leg. Against all odds, he trains to make an impossible comeback as a motocross racer to support his family.
