New Trailer: Sofia Vergara’s ‘Hot Pursuit’

02.13.2015 | By |

Ok, this movie is going to be hilarious! Sofia Vergara and Reese Witherspoon have teamed up to do a buddy-girl movie that from the looks of this trailer, is going to give Sofia Vergara her first big box-office break. Vergara, the Colombian Jessica Rabbit, has been looking for some time for the perfect vehicle to ride her popularity and good looks. This might be the transitory project that launches her solo A- List career. I think it’ll hit and hit well.   Read More

It is great that a new Frozen short is coming out, but I am still baffled at why Disney has not greenlit a sequel after the phenomenon that the Frozen film was. About Time… Disney Finally Creates First Latina Princess

01.30.2015 | By |

Disney this week announced that they created their first ever Latina Princess and her name will be Princess Elena of Avalor. Here’s the catch, she will only exist as part of the Disney Junior cable TV world and not in film which is where the mainstream masses could really have felt her presence. To keep her ensconced from broad platforms such as the movie arena, unlike the African-American Princess in 2009’s The Princess and the Frog, is something that should have all Hispanics pondering on why the decision of relegating her to the whims of 2-7 year olds? Did things not work out with the diverse Princesses concept in film? Read More

01.28.2015 | By |

Movies, unlike TV, have been very slow to embrace diversity in Hollywood. The new trailer of the reboot of 20th Century Fox’s Fantastic Four just dropped starring Miles Teller, Michael B. Jordan, Kate Mara, Jamie Bell and Toby Kebbell. It will be directed by Josh Trank and it’s evident by the trailer that they’re going full blown origin story on it. Fox is doing this new version independent of Marvel Studios. What does that mean? You know exactly what that means. Fantastic Four will be in theaters August 7, 2015, in 3D. Read More

Blackhat (Movie Review)

01.16.2015 | By |

The “1-4-0″: Michael Mann’s cybercrime film #Blackhat is a mix of global, suspenseful grit and a technical and narrative mess. Not what we’re used to from Mann. Read More

Complete Oscar 2015 Nominations List

01.15.2015 | By |

It was a big morning for the 87th edition of the Oscars. BIRDMAN amassed the most amount of nominations with 9, as well as the artistic comedy THE GRAND BUDAPEST HOTEL. I’ve been predicting big for THE IMITATION GAME and it came in huge with 8 nominations, but the big surprise came with AMERICAN SNIPER with 6 nods as well as BOYHOOD with 6. But no bigger pleasure is the small indie that could – WHIPLASH received a whopping 5 nominations.  Read More
