New York, NY (June 1, 2012) The biggest night for Broadway is Sunday June 10, because of the 66th Annual Tony Awards, Broadcast Live from the Beacon Theater on CBS from 8pm-11pm (ET/PT time delay). Presented by The Broadway League and the American Theater Wing.

It had already been announced that they would be hosted by Neil Patrick Harris, winner of an Emmy Award. The rest of the people that will appear are: Nick Jonas, Amanda Seyfried, Tyler Perry, Jessica Chastain, Jim Parsons, Paul Rudd, Ellen Barkin, Angela Lansbury, Bernadette Peters, Candice Bergen, Christopher Plummer, James Marsden, Mandy Patinkin, Sheryl Crow, Trey Parker and Matt Stone among others.

The Antoinette Perry Tony Awards reward theater professionals because of their outstanding performances on Broadway. This is the 66th anniversary of the Tony Awards, which were held the first time on April 6, 1947 in the Grand Ballroom in the Waldorf Astoria.

The big night for cinema, The 83rd edition of the Oscars, was a big bore with even more boring hosts – James Franco and Anne Hathaway. The show was very predictable and perhaps Tom Hooper’s win was as shocking as it got. The jokes were bad and Billy Crysrtal‘s appearance made it the more drastic because one could compare how disastrous this Oscar telecast was.

Official BAFTA nominations list

This is Bafta’s best year by far, and there isn’t a major studio in the world that doesn’t know it. The British are creating the best independent films in the world, and for the first time in its long history of pure envy the British Academy can cock a snook at its far more glamorous American counterpart. You don’t need to be Barry Norman to work out that the big films fighting for the top honours at the Bafta awards on February 8 will also be walking up the aisle two weeks later in Los Angeles.

Penelope Cruz was nominated again, making her chances to be nominated at the Oscar’s even better. I did scour the internet and got the complete list of BAFTA nominees. Here you go:
