This Week In Movies: ‘Christopher Robin,’ ‘The Spy Who Dumped Me,’ ‘Never Going Back’

07.31.2018 | By |

This is a very good ‘This Week In Movies’. There’s a little bit for everyone from some family fair, comedy, documentaries and indie with some fresh faces and rising stars. First up is Disney’s Christopher Robin, essentially a live-action Winnie The Pooh movie. This one should choke on you up.  If you’re into politics, author Dinesh D’Souza compares Abraham Lincoln’s presidency to Trump’s in Death of a Nation, and indie film Never Goin’ Back stars Argentine actress Camila Morrone who is a star in the making harkening  back to Italy’s Sofia Loren.  See what else is here that you might like to see and GO SEE IT! And remember to listen to our podcast this Friday for our review of movies and interviews with filmmakers and other notable figures of American and Latino pop culture.

This Week In Movies: ‘The Dinner,’ ‘Guardians of the Galaxy 2’

05.2.2017 | By |

This week in movies, the new release slate is not a Hollywood moviegoer’s dream. There is only one tentpole movie release, Guardians of the Galaxy 2, and the rest are indie fare that lack buzz and excitement. The exploration of the human spirit is the common theme among our limited releases and though that’s not exciting, it is interesting. GOTG 2 is as much fun as you’ll have at the movies this summer, but Richard Gere’s family thriller The Dinner, does capture a feeling of Roman Polanski’s Carnage. Some star power also helps indie films with stars such as Naomi Watts and Liev Schrieber leading their respective films. See what interests you and let us know. Enjoy the trailers and listen to our podcast for our in-depth reviews of this week’s releases and more! Read More

This Week In Movies: ‘Ghost In The Shell,’ ‘The Boss Baby’

03.27.2017 | By |

It is a very feeble week for movies. There are only five films releasing this week. That is a head-scratcher and perhaps one of the few times that five films come out in a single week. Nevertheless, Scarlett Johansson’s Ghost in the Shell is the biggest release this weekend. It has the star power, the budget and the distribution release. It comes with some controversy though (whitewashing is mentioned), but it does look fun! Enjoy the trailers and listen to our podcast for our in-depth reviews of this week’s releases and more!
