7 Questions With Cáthia: Her Journey From “The Voice,” New EP

03.4.2014 | By |

During March of 2013 Catherine Ochoa competed on the fourth season of NBC’s “The Voice.” She started out in team Shakira and was then swept away by team Usher. Though she was eliminated during the Live Playoffs, that didn’t stop this young singer from continuing her career. Now a year after she left the show she has a new EP out called “Unbreakable,” which debuted at No. 16 on the Latin iTunes chart on March 1, the day of the release, and is still going strong at No. 27.  Read More

“Musts, Maybes, And Nevers”: Former Paramount President Writes Book On Truth Of Movie Industry

10.9.2013 | By |

I usually don’t have much time to read books. My literature is mostly composed from films, documentaries, newspapers, radio, podcasts, web journals, but not hundred paged books. In the case of “Musts, Maybes, and Nevers: A Book About the Movies” by David V. Picker, I conceded victory to him for engaging me from the preface. Read More

Interview: Alfonso Cuarón talks ‘Gravity’

09.21.2013 | By |

Alfonso Cuarón has come a long way from the streets of Mexico City. He’s now a three time Oscar nominee and has never won. But what I’m betting is that Cuarón will win one this year for his masterpiece film – Gravity.

When you see the film, you can easily see the movie being nominated for 7 Oscar awards – Best Picture, Best Director, Best Original Screenplay, Best Actress, Best Cinematography, Best VFX and Best Sound Mixing.

Cuarón recently sat down for an interview in Los Angeles with DP/30 to talk about the conception of the film, the production, and the new technology that is so great that audiences won’t notice any seams in the magic.

Diego Luna Says That The Americas Will Be ONE Big Country

08.9.2013 | By |

I got a call at my apartment in New York City with a Los Angeles area code. I pick up and it was Diego Luna. I was slated to chat with him regarding Elysium, his new futuristic, politically charged project where he plays Julio, the best friend of Matt Damon’s character Max. He sounds like he is walking the streets of L.A., a deduction I make due to the fact he people keep saying hello to him. A little later the distractions stop and we commence our conversation which ranges from directing Matt Damon in the future, his terrible movies which he loves to the Americas uniting together to create one big ass country. Oh, and we tackle the most consequential question, to me at least… when the hell is he and Gael García Bernal shooting another movie? Read More
