New Teaser Trailer: ‘The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies’

07.28.2014 | By |

Trailers seem to be dropping out of the sky from the San Diego Comic-Con with the latest WB teaser released – ‘The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies‘! It’s chilling and haunting, but it doesn’t have the thrills of a ‘Mad Max: Fury Road‘. Regardless, this is the final chapter of the Hobbit and it should deliver a great theatrical trailer in the next months ahead. In the meantime, click on my trailer geeks!  Read More

Viggo Mortensen could be Zod in Superman Reboot

Viggo Mortensen could be Zod in Superman Reboot

How cool that Argentina raised Viggo Mortensen could be in the new Superman Reboot? The Spanish speaking actor, poet, musician, photographer and painter is being pursued by producer Christopher Nolan and director Zack Snyder to play the main villain, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Viggo Mortensen, known for The Lord of the Rings trilogy and who is in discussions for Universal’s Snow White and the Huntsman, is said to be at the top of the list to play General Zod, the evil and super-powered scientist first introduced in Superman II from 1980 played by Terrence Stamp. The question is now which role will Mortensen want to do more?

The actor who made the  Spanish speaking film ‘Alatriste’ is said to be just a “person of interest,” much like Kevin Costner is for the role of Jonathan Kent. The shot of both of them getting their respective gigs is pretty solid.

Director Zack Snyder is in the midst of meeting various actors for the Zod and Kent roles and three female parts well. There is no secret that whoever lands these sough after roles will be having a very nice life for the next ten years as Superman is looking to become a WB franchise for the ages.

Check out our interview we did with Viggo for his movie ‘Good’ a few years ago: click here.

Below is the character of Zod that Mortensen might play soon. Terrence Stamp originated the role in 1980 for Superman II.

4 New ‘Green Lantern’ Posters!

07.26.2010 | By |

4 New 'Green Lantern' Posters!

For those of you that are fans of the Green Lantern and have seen the EW magazine cover of Ryan Reynolds as the green hero, I’m not sure how you feel about these new posters, but I must say I’m rather dissappointed. These bland and unimaginative illustrations hopefully are not a sign of things to come.

One thing I am glad about is that the DC, Marvel wars are starting to heat up. The Dark Knight was one of the highest grossing films ever, Superman is on its way back with Christopher Nolan consulting and now GL makes his awaited appearance.

But getting back to the posters, couldn’t someone else have done a better job? We recently unveiled Juan Doe’s new Machete comic cover, and he would have been the ideal candidate since he did DC’s Batman: The Joker’s Asylum Part IV: Scarecrow cover… and as one commenter stated about his work, “sick!“, we support that effervescent clamor! Below is his Scarecrow cover, cool huh?

Batman: The Joker's Asylum Part IV: Scarecrow

Who did the Green Lantern posters? Oh well, no use crying over spilled milk. The film has a release date of June 17th, 2011. Perhaps there might be new posters before its due date in theaters.

Read the official synopsis before you check out the posters WB sent us and let us know what you think in our comments section below:

“In a universe as vast as it is mysterious, a small but powerful force has existed for centuries. Protectors of peace and justice, they are called the Green Lantern Corps. A brotherhood of warriors sworn to keep intergalactic order, each Green Lantern wears a ring that grants him superpowers. But when a new enemy called Parallax threatens to destroy the balance of power in the Universe, their fate and the fate of Earth lie in the hands of their newest recruit, the first human ever selected: Hal Jordan. Hal is a gifted and cocky test pilot, but the Green Lanterns have little respect for humans, who have never harnessed the infinite powers of the ring before. But Hal is clearly the missing piece to the puzzle, and along with his determination and willpower, he has one thing no member of the Corps has ever had: humanity. With the encouragement of fellow pilot and childhood sweetheart Carol Ferris (Blake Lively), if Hal can quickly master his new powers and find the courage to overcome his fears, he may prove to be not only the key to defeating Parallax…he will become the greatest Green Lantern of all.”

Is a new ‘Mortal Kombat’ movie on its way?

06.9.2010 | By |

Is a new 'Mortal Kombat' movie on its way?

Just in case you have not seen the new YouTube video of the new Mortal Kombat short, it is time you do. From what we know, WB has hired Kevin Tancharoen, the 25 year old director of the remake of ‘Fame’ to put together this well produced gaming film as a test for executives and the sorts.

Will it work? That is still to be seen, but from the looks of it, it has my blessing. It puts to shame the two previous incarnations that were just horrible and outdated now. LatinoReview broke the video online.

The actors that conform the cast are Michael Jai White who played Jacks, Jeri Ryan as Sonya Blade, Lateef Crowder as Baraka, Ian Anthony Dale as Scorpion and Matt Mullins as Johnny Cage. There’s a few missing, but what the hell, it’s a test.

Enjoy and here is to the WB making a smart decision and bringing this bitch to the screen!
