Radio City Music Hall made it snow in the middle of August!
The Radio City Rockettes stopped traffic on 6th avenue in Manhattan this week in front of the famous art deco marquee and performed an awe-inspiring and fan-favorite number “New York at Christmas”. The performance took place on a double decker Gray Line City Sightseeing bus in front of a very surprised and jolly crowd. But that was not all, Santa Claus and the Rockettes had a special announcement. They announced the Gift of Joy program, which aims to bring a sense of togetherness and the spirit of giving back to the community.
The Rockettes went on to explaining what the program consists of…
“To kick off the season of giving we’re asking you, the Christmas Spectacular fans, to tell us about the members of your community who deserve some extra joy this holiday season. We may feature some of these stories, and in addition we may even meet some of these deserving members of your community during our hometown visits… We’re all about making time for joy and what better way to do that than through the gift of giving this holiday season.”
The holidays have always been a time to give back, but we often forget that the holiday season is not the only time when we can give back. Since the program is up and running now, that gave it a powerful and positive reinforcement to start impacting the lives of our community in a positive manner way before the holiday season officially begins.
The Rockettes are asking their fans to submit the stories of their families, friends, and community members who deserve extra cheer this upcoming holiday season via email to email@example.com Performances for The Christmas Spectacular starring the Radio City Rockettes will run from November 10, 2017 to January 1, 2018. Tickets are on sale now online at rockettes.com/Christmas and at the Radio City box office.
