Javier Bardem gives first interview on ‘Skyfall’

Alongside director Sam Mendes and his colleagues Daniel Craig, Judi Dench, Naomie Harris, Berenice Marlohe and producers Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli, Spanish actor Javier Bardem, who won an Oscar for the film ‘No Country For Old Men’, takes some time out to chat about the the 23 installment of the James Bond series entitled ‘Skyfall‘ and his participation in it, as a villain, at a presentation press conference in London.

When asked if he didn’t mind playing another evil character after his award wining role in ‘No Country…’, he answered, “Who told you that a villain makes a bad person?” The man is right.

The film’s title has no connection with the stories of Ian Fleming, and producer Barbara Broccoli has said only that there is some “emotional context”, which will be released in the movie.

Sam Mendes, the film’s director, revealed nothing about the plotline, but we did get our hands on an official summary also offers very little: “Bond’s loyalty to M is tested as her past comes back to haunt her. As MI6 comes under attack, 007 must track down and destroy the threat, no matter how personal the cost.”

Producer Michael G. Wilson said the budget was “in the same range” as Quantum of Solace 2008, estimated at $200 million.

The world premiere of ‘Skyfall’ will be the November 9, 2012.
