A Sympathetic Joker? WB Drops First Official “Joker” Trailer

04.3.2019 | By |

This might be the first-ever Joker you’ll sympathize with. “I used to think my life was a tragedy, but now I realize it’s a comedy.” He’s almost relatable. As the first trailer shows, Arthur Fleck is bullied, humiliated, and punched. Joaquin Phoenix seems to be exploring the profundity of the character and exhuming his never-before-seen vulnerabilities that ultimately gave way to the deranged maniac known as the Joker. Watch the trailer after the cut and see if you get the chills from this origin story. Read More

Justice League (Movie Review)

11.14.2017 | By |

The 2-8-0: #JusticeLeague is a modest and sufficiently entertaining film that delivers all the predictable offerings we expect from films of this nature – action, fights, explosions and cheesy one-liners. It’s not as good as The Avengers, but what is. Read More

Gotham’s Ben McKenzie Shares Thoughts On DC’s Upcoming ‘Justice League’ Movie

03.31.2017 | By |

Superhero television shows are all the craze right now. Take for example all four Netflix/Marvel shows, ABC’s Agents of SHIELD, The CW’s Supergirl and The Flash, NBC’s Powerless, FX’s Legion, and Fox’s upcoming X-Men series. But so far, Fox’s other superhero show, Gotham, set in the Batman universe and halfway through season 3, is the show that fans are truly going crazy for. ShowBizCafe was invited to a special private screening of the spring season premiere with the cast at the Whitby Hotel in New York City. It was followed by a Q&A with members of the ensemble and a pre and post-cocktail reception. We were lucky enough to sit down not just with star Ben McKenzie who plays the young Commissioner, but with other well-known actors in the series as well. Our Q&A is below. Read More

The New ‘Justice League’ Trailer Is Here!

03.25.2017 | By |

The second trailer for Warner Bros. and DC’s Justice League trailer is here and is beginning to become more credible with each footage that is released. Still no sign of Superman which I’m assuming will be the BIG reveal within the movie. Though Amy Adam’s Lois Lane does make a quick cameo. What do you guys think so far of the trailer? Will you go see it or are you done with DC and their disappointments? Leave comments below.

The ‘Justice League’ Trailer Has Finally Arrived!

07.23.2016 | By |

I can’t believe I’m seeing this trailer. This film wasn’t even supposed to be made. It was some fantasy amongst comic-book heads. There was talk of production maybe happening in 2020, but in 2016!? YES!! DC’s equivalent of The Avengers premiered at the San Diego Comic-Con today and with no Superman in sight, Bruce Wayne wrestles up Aquaman, Flash, Cyborg and Wonder Woman to fight an unseen enemy. But again, where is Superman? The tone of the film will be on the jocular side, much like Marvel, but the look is straight up DC. This trailer is not breathtaking or surreal, perhaps because it’s not the official trailer? but it establishes the physical presence of the core characters, including Cyborg (I’ll be rooting for him above all others). Take a look, let me know what you think of the trailer!

The First ‘Wonder Woman’ Trailer Is Here!

07.23.2016 | By |

Wonder Woman is a superhero who has been around for 75 years. She is without question the most popular female superheroine in the world. Now, she finally comes to the big screen! The first trailer for “Wonder Woman”, DC’s first female-led superhero movie ever, is here!

Scheduled to be released this coming June 2017, ‘Wonder Woman’ is directed by Patty Jenkins and stars Gal Gadot as Diana Prince/Wonder Woman, the Amazonian princess who has been raised on a sheltered island paradise and is unaware of her true heritage until she meets an American pilot (Chris Pine) who tells her about the outside world. She possesses the powers of strength, speed, flight, super-senses, plus the ability to deflect bullets with her bracelets.

The cast is made up of both familiar faces for DC fans and newcomers. It stars Gal Gadot (who also played the role of Wonder Woman in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice) as the protagonist Diana Prince/Wonder Woman, Chris Pine as Steve Trevor, Robin Wright as General Antiope, Connie Nielsen as Queen Hippolyta, Elena Anaya as Doctor Poison and Lucy Davis as Etta Candy.

The trailer starts with Wonder Woman running through no man’s land and saving a village from German soldiers. She then proceeds to fight them with her sword, shield, and her iconic bracelets. The trailer also hints at the origin story of Diana Prince as she is seen in Themyscira training with her mother, Hippolyta (played by Connie Nielsen).

The movie is based on the DC Comics character Wonder Woman who was created in 1941 by American psychologist and writer William Moulton Marston.
