This Week In Movies: ‘Noah,’ ‘Sabotage,’ ‘Cesar Chavez’

03.24.2014 | By |

We begin the last week of March with ten movie releases. Arnold is back! as well as biblical films and the most anticipated Asian action film of the year amongst others. Noticeably, Latino films are trying to establish themselves as a mainstay in Hollywood with Cesar Chavez and an all-star cast of Latino actors. Protagonist Michael Peña is perhaps one of the best of them with an earshot of an Oscar sometime soon. Documentaries are rare this week with only the premise of a nanny photographer making the rounds. Apart from that, B actors from the 80s make appearances, but their films at least offer something intriguing, which means that their trailers are at least worth looking at. Read More

New Trailer: Godzilla

02.27.2014 | By |

When the 1998 remake failed to surpass its 1956 predecessor, “Godzilla” seemed doomed to being forgotten instead of forever praised as one of the most imposing symbols in pop culture. This Week In Movies: ‘Non-Stop,’ ‘Son of God,’ ‘Stalingrad 3D’

02.24.2014 | By |

We begin the last week of February with eight movie releases and they’re mostly a combination between B-Movies and foreign films. Perhaps the biggest film of the week is ‘Son of God’ from 20th Century Fox which is making a big push with Hispanic audiences. Interesting is that they’re pushing a “Latino” Jesus, yet he was born in Lisbon, Portugal, making him European and Portuguese, not Latino from Latin America. Fox must think we’re idiots to fall for this gag. Nevertheless, audiences should have fun with the return of Liam Neeson to the B-movie genre with Non-Stop (directed by a Spaniard). Absurd escapism at its best! Read More
